CD Burning Software

I was wondering what kind of advantages a CD burning program, such as Roxio's Toast, would have over something like I-tunes? Dithering isn't really an issue, as I am taking care of that in my multitrack program before I export the final soundfile to my desktop.

Well, Toast can do these additional things for you:

Digitize, preserve and restore your LPs, cassettes and live audio. Remove pops, clicks and hiss, create perfect audio CDs or enhanced audio CDs from any QuickTime audio file, create back-up copies of your audio CDs with a single click, and personalize your discs with printed labels, case covers, and booklets. See, all you needed to do was a little research and your on your way.

For audio, I have not found a better app than Cd Architect. I was so sad when they stopped making it, but then happy when they started again:D

Which one allows you to set the gap between CD tracks? Can you also burn data CDs?
With CD Architect you can not only set the gap, but you can do crossfades and apply FX. The "secondary audio layer" feature is also nice.

For data discs, I use the prog that came with my Dell. I think it's called Sonic.

I tried using the one that comes with WindowsXP but it thinks my CDR drive is empty. So CD Architect does not burn data CDs?

CD Architect is only a PC program, no Mac version right?
