Cables?

I was wondering if I record with say 6 mics into my mixer do I need to have 6 more cables from my mixer to sound card. HELP

You need one cable per channel that you want to record simultaniously. So if you want to record all six channels that go into the mixer separately on your computer, then you need one cable per channel from your mixer to the soundcard. You do of course need a soundcard with that many separate inputs s well.
