Im trying to start a new home studio for production of hip-hop beats. I've been making beats for more than a year, but haven't paid much attention to the technical aspects. I love making music on my computer and I've spent the time since I've started saving for a major investment. What I'm looking for is some "ideal setups" from production to final recording. Try not to be extremely technical, cause im slow as I said.

Analog 3 channel mixer
Synth (MIDI)
Drum machine (MIDI)
T.V. set

I use a dumb laptop with crappy magix. But I've used other editors.

Im exploring getting an ASR-X and a Mac with Protools (does this make sense?). Also, if anybody has any advice for learning more about studios through hands on experience...please share. Thanks, Jon
