Audio interface with midi - Advice needed

Hi
Could someone please advise on the following

'm after an audio interface with midi which will permit playback whilst recording and as i'm fairly new to this and on a tiny budget will also come with recording software.

I'm also considering JamOrigins midi guitar software and wonder if anyone else has used it, if so would it be compatible with a cutdown software package such as ableton lite etc

any advice appreciated
thanks

How many simultaneous audio tracks do you want to be able to record at one time (not MIDI tracks)? "Tiny budget" as in how much, exactly?

Steinberg UR22. I have owned a CI1 of the same company and it was an amazingly low latency piece of equipment. I don't believe the 22 has direct monitoring but it otherwise meets your requirements and the preamps are pretty darn good. It really is an underpriced piece of equipment.

In case you're wondering I don't work for Steinberg, lol.

Another +1 for the UR22 here.

It got a very good write up in a recent issue of Sound on Sound and it comes (as you might expect!) with a lite version of Cubase which is is the dog's danglers for MIDI.

Dave.
