Yikes! I was looking into getting an RME Digi96/8 PST to replace my Edirol UA-100 and thrust me into 24 bit land. I go to the RME hardware warning page:

just to make sure and, of all things, there is my mobo, the Asus A7A266 staring back at me! It also said what a dog the mobo is, and the Ali Magic chipset.
Now I'm thinking maybe I should ditch this thing, even though I bought 512 mb Crucial DDR RAM for it. It has been doing me all right but I only record at 16 bits.
Anybody with thoughts about the RME page or recommendations of different mobo's that could use the same RAM?
