I need help,
I am in the Navy and about to do a couple of deployments (that means I'm going to sea to defend your right to record music here in the free-world). Anyway, I've decided to get a laptop and a small midi keyboard so I can work on tracks in my idle time while underway. The only trouble is I don't have a clue on what type of laptop will make a good recording platform. I've got a pretty decent budget for my purchase I think, under $2k. Does anyone have any suggestions on a laptop model and/or any features I should look for in my setup? Right now I mainly use Sonar, Dxi synths and sample CDs Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.
