Akai EIE Pro

Picked one up 3 hrs ago from Cash Generators £99.00.

Installed 64 W7 driver and ran firmware update. Played a bit of Mozart out of Samplitude..HORRENDOUS distortion from the headphone output and the vu meters don't work.

Ran driver search in Control Panel. "Best drivers installed" . I next ran it with ASIO4all, still distorted. The box does not have its own ASIO drivers, uses WDM but I could have lived with that had it worked properly.

Going back Friday.

Has everybody seen the SAMPLITUDE PRO X 3 offer? Last day tha'knows!

Got my dosh back. Rather annoyed since I have been keen to try one ever since they came out.

I had thought one would make a good 4 in 4 out link for the Teac A3440 my son used.

I read a good review on those and always liked their design of the box/layout....looked great for a desktop.
Of course I love the old school VU meters.. er...when they work...

interesting it was trashed out, home interfaces dont usually see a lot of abuse do they?

so that was it for the Akai? a bad exp.
at least you got the dosh back.
