Will sticky shed ruin my machine?

Ive had no problems yet, but just so i know...

If i accidently end up with a sticky tape and run it through my machine (TSR8) will it permanently damage the heads? or could i just clean them? Im concerned because i buy one pass tape from a (well recomended) tape recycling place, and 1/2" 456 is supposed to be at risk right? i dont care about the tape, i just dont want to hurt my machine.
 
There's a very slight potential for scratching the heads, but usually it just leaves a mess. If you do encounter it, you'll need to clean the entire tape path (guides, heads, capstan, etc.).
 
I wouldn't worry about it too much. It'll be aparently pretty quickly if you have bad tape. Your tape will come to a xcreaching halt, and there will be piles of junk on/around the heads. Just clean it up really well, no harm done.
