Will a Condensor Mike Work on My Tascam 244?

Yes I do still have the mc100. Should I use the impedance transform from the mc100 to the 244. It certainly was much simpler when I just had my Shure dynamic mic which I still have.

Rob and Dave, I also look into mic cable surgery. I used to be more adventurous it just seems the older I get, the less adventurous I am.

Thank you to all who have offered advice. I have to say though, I sort of miss the scathing remarks from folks like Greg and Muttley.

STFU noob.

Yes. Just use the MIC100 and be done with it. No need for separate phantom power box or cable surgery. As Mark said. 1/4" TS from output of the MIC100 to the 244.

Have fun!!! Let's hear some music!!! :)

I like options and have usually tried a mess of combination to see if there is anything noteworthy - good, or, bad.

Even with later technology decks, I'm not all that much concerned about input chain with cassettes. I might be more concerned with the analog out, for example. Speaking of more modern input electronics, of course(less noise and grit).

I think that TEAC- early TEAC America stuff is pretty nice, though
