Tascam 388 - How to output 8 channels with EQ

Hi all,

I was reading a bunch online about this problem and there didn't seem to be any conclusive anwser. I recently picked up a Tascam 388 and decided to figure this one out...

If you have an 8-channel interface and want to export your tascam 388 recordings into a DAW while keeping the EQ on the machine do the following:

Connect the 8 PGM outs into your interface. Turn all inputs to REMIX. If you have drums recorded on track 1 and want them on track 1 in Logic, pro tools, whatever, then assign the first channel to 1/2 and "pan" it to the left. This makes the PGM (program) output 1 receive what is on the tape AFTER it goes through the EQ. Follow this idea for all your tracks and you're good to go.

The RCA tape outs and line outs for each channel will output exactly what is recorded on the tape without EQ. The only way to get 8 channels with EQ out of the 388 is this way. (As far as I know...).

Anyways, hopefully this helps some people out there.
