first time poster here. I just bought a second hand Tascam 424 mkIII for pretty cheap and have monkeyed around with it a bit. I've recorded bass parts for other people using digital recording gear that was all setup by an engineer, but basically come here soaking wet behind the ears. I'm not even pretending to know the slightest about anything, other then a good understanding of what most musicians know about effects and mixers. FYI, I'm wanting to make demo cassettes to shop for gigs for a folk duo I am part of.
I'm wanting to get some opinions on what makes of studio moniters are good. I'd prefer active moniters. What are the ones to look for?
I'd also like to know whats a decent mixdown deck that mixes to cassette?
Is it possible to get more then one headphone mix? Use the tape outs?
