then cut the cable, and rewire all of it to the new connector?
man it's gonna be a pain in the ass job to do!

found this one in ebay: D-Sub 50 pin GPIB cable, both male and female connectors, 2 m 6.5 ft cable | eBay
might be an easier approach rather then rewire the whole thing, but what do you reckon about these scetchy wire going out of the connectors?
