Looking to buy a Yamaha MT400 multitrack tape recorder. In good condition.

I have a bag since I was 22 full of tapes with rough tracks and desent recording, problem is I recorded everything on high speed , and haven't found any other analog 4tracks that can play the tapes which is why I'm in the market for the actual machine I originally used. Please anyone if you have one in descent working order I would like to purchase it. Please let me know asap. Thanks.

There are lots of 4-track machines that record at high speed:

Probably the most popular are the Tascam 414 and 424 series, of which you can still find plenty of. Several other Yamaha models and Fostex models do too.

In fact, I'm willing to bet that you'd find more machines capable of high speeds than you would not at this point.

I think your main concern might be with regards to noise reduction if you used it on your old recordings. I'm not sure what the Yamaha MT400 used, but if you get a machine that uses a different NR, it may sound a little different.
