If you have the same hamming sound on speckers monitors and head phones then it not a head phones problem. I remember back in late 80s... I had the same problem once. You mention that someone was fixing in side tape player, rollers and other stuff, well, in my case turn out to be it was a player head, ground was out so you got to fined someone who knows where to look for that. Thats just mine opinion.
