DX-8 with a TEAC 80-8 Not passing signal when engaged.

I have an 80-8 with a DX-8 hooked to it. The round plug cable is hooked to the DX-8 and I can pass signal on all 8 tracks when it is not engaged. As soon as I engage the DBX for a track...no audio. With the unit off it passes signal, just doesn't when it is engaged. I triple checked the wiring an all is right.

Suggestions?
