Hi all,

Have been building a home studio and I'm now onto the condenser microphones.

My gear I'll be using:

Taylor 414ce ltd
L.R Baggs Venue DI
PreSonus FireStudio Mobile

I'm more of a finger pick style, although I do quite a lot of strumming too. Similar styles to Boyce Avenue and Tyler Ward. I was wondering what mics would people recommend that would compliment the equipment I'll be using it with? I've been looking at the AKG C214 or the Rode NT5's but was wondering what other good suggestions there are that I can compare and look into? £250 - £300 mark.

Thanks for any help

The cellist is a low-level professional, cello is a low level-professional cello. Rooms will vary, but can include halls. I'd also eventually like to record string quartet/trio, and possibly piano-string combos. I realize piano sound is a very different ball-game, and would like to focus on cello first.

Searching these forums I found 2 threads but can't post them because Im new here.
thanks you everyone

Perfectly I'd pick up something like the SM7B or the Procaster, but they're way outside my budget of £90-100. Any suggestion? Don't care if it's a USB mic or otherwise, I have a sound card that can handle just about anything. Oh, it also has to be available in the UK.

Thanks.

I can't seem to find one that fits me perfectly,i'm not a picky guy and i'm not loaded with cash.I'm just a guy looking for that one special mic lol. Out of the one's i've tried the MXL 960 with tube swap,MC 900 and Avantone were the best to me. Most of the time i noticed i didn't like mics with transfomers in them, they seemed wooly or hazy. A friend of mines has a M Audio Sputnik that i'm quite fond of,but me i can't afford one of those.

So fellas and ladies what can you guys recommend me that i may like in the 200 to maybe 400 dollar price range ?

Hello,
I search for a microphone that can do the best for recording a conversations between me and my guest, in order to take some videos for my blog (a coffee blog). The recording conditions can be various but usually, records will be made in low noise rooms. The position of the speakers will be something like this:
speakers.jpg

I have a Mackie 402 VLZ 3 mixer, to manage the sound of the microphone, and to send it to the video recording device.

My budget - 150-200 Euro

Is a good choice a large diafragm condenser cardioid, like Audio Techina AT2020/AKG PERCEPTION 120/Blue Yeti Pro etc. What specs should I look for? Omni, bi or with switchable pattern ?

Thank you!
