I want to buy a hardware recorder for recording my ideas and to substitute the usage of DAW in the stage of recording. (I hate watching laptop display all day long)
I already own a Mackie Blackjack interface with Onyx preamps. I am very pleased with them.
The problem that I am on budget so I have the following possibilities:
-Buying a Zoom R8 for recorder and interface and sell the Mackie Blackjack
-Keeping the Mackie Blackjack and buying an old recorder (Boss BR 864, BR600 etc) for much less than the Zoom R8.
My question is how are the Zoom R8 preamp. Can be obtained good results with?
Witch is better preamp Zoom's or Mackie's ?
