UA DCS finally arrived

I only could find a couple of reviews on this and know one
here seems to be using one according to my last post.

The unit is a nice solid American made product, I suppose other
that a few high end acoustics and electrics and an ancient Carvin
desk it's the only thing in my studio that is.

I did not do anything significant with it but what I did do sounded
crystal clear much cleaner and transparent than any other preamp
I've used.

Seems to be a heavy well built, I did have a problem with the CAT5
cable that came with it. I replaced it with another cable I had laying
around so the problem was apparently just a poorly crimped or out
of tolerance CAT5 cable.

This thing is going to be so handy, my studio currently is in the first
basement of a quad level in MI it is colder than hell down there. I
plan doing most of my work upstairs for the 3 or 4 months. I'll be taking
a couple mics upstairs and the remote for the pre, and run a couple
cables for head phones, I/O from DAW. I'll be using a laptop and remote
desktop to control everything else upstairs.

I've only played with it a short while but all you have to do is match the
gain trim on the pre to that of your converters and you know
right from the bridge meters on the remote if your close to clipping plus
you can adjust it to any value you want for pre clip.

The unit also has built in decoding for stereo mid side recording which I haven't had a chance to try. I hope to record a few sax tracks with it in a couple days.

If any one is interested AMS has the best deal on them with a $50 rebate
if you get them before 12-31
