thoughts on RNC 1773 and similarly priced compressors ($200-ish new)?

I have no qualms buying second hand, so it's really $100 purchase on ebay.

RNC 1773 seems to have a good reputation...
 
I have an RNC and an RNLA. They're very different compressors. If you try to nuke a signal with the RNLA it will saturate and distort in a very obvious way. The RNC is much cleaner. Especially in Super Nice mode it can give you a very transparent sounding squeeze.
 
Great value stuff. I have both the RNC and the Rnla to and I love them both. very versitale stuff.
