I recently acquired a Tapco 8201B. This is an old unit, built while Tapco was owned by Electro Voice. Does anyone know anything about this unit. I was about to sell it on eBay, then I took a better look at it and it looks and feels pretty nice. There just seems to be no info on the net about it. It surprisingly feels like a high quality built product, and is pretty feature rich. It has individual outputs for each mic pre, as well as phantom power. I could use this as 8 mic pres for recording. I already have enough channels, but I could replace some of my cheaper units with this. The cheaper units I have are an M Audio Audio Buddy, Rane MS1S, and a modded Bellari MP 105. Nothing spectacular, but they work in a pinch. Any thoughts on the Tapco?
