i have been watching the price of these on ebay now and again, and i have to say, the price has really dropped on them. so much that i am gonna open mine up and mod it without fear of destroying it.
last few have gone for a little over $100. they used to be (like a year ago) hard to find for under $200.
anyway, it is a totally useful little two channel pre. easily modded to make it an even better pre. basically, it is a clean variety pre, with a bit more depth to it then you would expect. great for kick and snare channels, it goes down pretty deep, and has just a hair of HF distortion that helps the sources cut through.
although, i suppose this warning may raise the prices again.
