Rack mounting original Mackie CR1604

An original model Mackie CR1604 has come into my position. Unfortunately, it did not come with rack ears :(

So some questions.
1) Can VLZ mounting hardware be used with the original CR1604?
2) If not, where to find original mounting hardware
3) Has anyone tried modifying other rack ears (VLZ or otherwise) to fit?

The 1604 and the 1604 VLZ are both 17.3" across without the ears. Don't know about the bolt pattern, but even if the holes don't line up exactly, that can be solved with a drill...
I don't know about VLZ3 or Pro.
