PreSonus 1818vsl V.S. M-Audio Fast Track Ultra 8R

Hey everyone,

I'm starting a recording studio at Miami University in Ohio.
We have about 600 dollars for an Audio Interface and don't know what is the best for us.
We are running on a PC using USB for input and Pro Tools 9 to record.
We have the capacity to run 12 lines at once but don't think that's necessary because we only have 1 isolation room and plan to record 1 instrument at a time.

What do you think about PreSonus 181vsl compared to M-Audio Fast Track Ultra 8R?
Will PreSonus even work with Avid's Pro Tools?
Is there something completely different we should be looking at?

I can't really say which one to get because I haven't tried either, but since Pro Tools 9 came out, all audio interfaces work will Pro Tools, not just M-Audio/Digidesign anymore. So yes, the PreSonus will work with Pro Tools 9.
