Patchbay and cables

Hi all,
I*have a hosa patchbay and have been using hosa cables. When I got it it was ok at that time. I'm upgrading my studio and was wondering if anybody had any suggestions for a good patchbay. The hosa has been giving static/interference. It was relatively cheap. Also, the planet waves patch cables i'm sure are really great, but they are a bit expensive. Any suggestions for nice cables, not hosa. I would like a higher quality, but not super expensive. It was like 35 for two of the planet waves.
thanks

It's more likely the cables than the patchbay. Cables are usually the weakest link the the audio chain.

AP Audio makes some patch cables that are definitely a step above Hosas. Check 'em out here :http://www.zzounds.com/a--2676837/prodsearch?form=prodsearch&q=ap+patch

The Hosa cables tend to break internally too easily. They're OK if you use them for a permanent set up right out of the package.

But if you're really intent on a new patchbay, I really like the Re'An Patching System. http://www.zzounds.com/a--2676837/item--REARPM48S I have 4 in my set-up (along with a Carvin PB-32). It's really easy to set it up for different configs, like normalled or non-normalled. I have a few set as mults, too. They come in a few varieties, too. They're also by AP Audio.

Sorry if I seems like a shill for zZounds. Those were just the first things that came up when I Google'd AP and Re'An.

Ive bought a few hosa cables that has been pretty durable. Not as durable as my self made neutrik cables but nice to have them for extra cables.

like madaudio said, the cables are probably the problem. my suggestion, start building your own cables.

Neutrik connectors all the way. Do it right and never have problems again.
