New Mackie HD Recorder

The specs are indeed awesome and with the inclusion of a monitor and keyboard you gotta ready made system to go! I rec'd the
Mackie catalog in the mail and was impressed.
The only thing that was left out was the price. You have any idea how much this monster cost???

Yeah, the pricetag is conspicuously missing.
I have no idea what they plan to charge for it, but I'd expect maybe $5000 to $6000?

Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy a new computer
with a lotta RAM, big memory,good software and converters and 2 good mic's! I mean how
long will it take for another manufacturer
to come out with something similar to the HDR
with some upgrades, and charge $7-8000.00?
I'm all for progress,but damn we ain't all rich here! Sorry,didn't mean to vent!

yea but how much easier is it to record with that then with a computer on the road. i bet alot, i think that seems to be the premium useage for it.

Tascam has a similar product which is not vapor ware....it has better features and cost less than the mackie.
