Hello everyone
I hope I get advice on issue that i have been trying to resolve for a while now , here is what I'm trying to do :
I have a Mxr A/B signal splitter , one output going to my focusrite 2i2 and the other output going to fender 25 Rumble amp , then taking the amp sound through mic to second input in 2i2 interface.
This setup causing hum and static sound coming from the amp for some reason . what could be causing that ? My bass is active .
Could it be unbalanced patch cables ? Or the humming happening due to ground looping in the Mxr splitter or Audio interface ?

Thank you

Yes.
Further, it could be a bad cable (you did check each cable, right?) or a stray hair in the a/b switch.
It's probably not 'unbalanced patch cables'. Though balanced cables are less prone to hum, you're right there, ordinary patch cables, when healthy and used correctly, are usually just fine.

its most likely the interface to the splitter ground loop. stick a passive di box there on your interface and lift the xlr ground
