Mackie 1604 and FP10

Hey Guys!

I´m a happy owner of a FP10, I never track more than 8 tracks at a time, and just bought my first pair of monitors... :)

I was offered a nice deal on a used Mackie 1604 board... I would like to experience having an actual board and mixing with faders...

I wonder what´s the best to incorporate the board to my actual setup...

Sources ---> FP10 in multitrack (Cubase) ---> Mackie (as a mixing console) ---> FP10 (as a stereo track)?

It´s that how bigger studios use SSL/API/bigger consoles?

Thanks so much!

What up dude.

I don't really know the answer to your question but it sounds to me like you simply don't need the 1604.

I own a 1604. Had it for a long time. It's durable, reliable, and has decent sound quality overall IMO. Good mixer IMO. I use it to this day but ony when I need to record more than 8 tracks through my digi 002.

Thanks man!

I know what you mean... thing is I would like to experience real faders under my finger tips, and instead of buying a daw controller I can have a decent console...

I´m just worried about how to hook it up and if it´s worth the extra DA AD convertion...

Anyone else doing something similar?
