Could this be a sign of needing a new battery....or worse?

Power it up.
No input registering
Screen reads +18. All parameter leds are on.
Register led lamp is on

No buttons or functions work at all

The last time it did this powering it down and back on a few times cleared it up.

Anyone know about these units?

Please no condescending elitist "its a ceap old unit" comments. I am fully aware of the uses and limitations of the device, and happen to like some of the presets.

Thanks
:D

I used to have one of those. It did the same thing and power cycling did the trick. I don't know if it has a battery but that would make sense. Mine mostly stayed set to Gold Plate.

I am wondering if there is a sticky contact on one of the buttons. Try turning it off, give all the buttons a serious workout, then power it up again.

I hope mine never does this, vocal plate is my go to reverb for vocals.

Alan.

PS you haven't plugged in the wrong power supply by some chance?

Thanks for the responses.

Well I opened her up. Saw nothing wrong and cleaned out the pots.

I did find in the power supply cord some wear and fixed that. A bit of solder and heat shrink took care of the lead.

Seems to be all fine now.

Odd, but when I opened her up, I saw nothing resembing a battery. Hmmm???

I'm with you on the plate. I actually like all the plate reverbs in the unit.

Mark,
Thanks for the link :D
I'll download it. I have a folder on my laptop called "Studio". In it I store manuals and info for every piece of gear I own. Even if i have a hard copy.
Just makes it convenient. So thanks, I didnt have that item.
