Idea, could somebody start a public page on mp3.com, or maybe this site where we could upload mp3 files of gear tests? I don't know if this site has the servers to handle it, but it would be a great way to check out gear.
MP3.com would be a bad choice with their 128kbps maximum. That would not qualify as an accepatble audio comparison. You're gonna want 256kbps minimum if your going to compress at all. Otherwise, the only comparison you'll be making is the quality of your encoder.
