L lumbago New member Dec 2, 2006 #21 A Rode condenser through a Focusrite Platinum preamp sounds great. And you ahve the option of a retrofit SP/DIF card (beautiful sound). My experience = NTK + Trakmaster + SP/DIF card = quiet + clean + accurate + usable. especially for hobbyist needs.
