Advice on Outboard EQ

I'd appreciate some advice regarding adding a parametric EQ unit to my rack. I have an HHB Radius 20 (2 channel, 4 band parametric equalizer) that I was using as the front end of my bass rig. I was told that the unit was actually designed for use in a recording studio. I have a windows-based DAW (Cubase) and use two daisy-chained Presonus units (Firestudio Tube and Firestudio Project) now. My aspiration is to make servicable demos of my soul/jazz band (includes vocals).

Two questions to those of you that have been at this for awhile:

1. Does it make sense to integrate this unit into my rack?
2. If so, exactly where in the chain and how do I set this up (what do I plug into what)?

Any advice would be welcome. Thanks.

I would only use it if you were going to mix out of the box. It doesnt sound like your doing that. It would not be useful on tracks going in the daw.

i would use it as an outboard effect.
sends 3 & 4 to the inputs and outputs back into the pres
on new channels.
I would only use it after the track have been recorded clean.
Just in case there is a freq. you need to cut a bit.

It seems a shame to have a unit and not use it somehow.

You can do as the others suggest. However, you will probably find that most plug-in EQs are easier to work with and will do just as good a job.
