    How to record audio on seperate channels.

    I have a Soundcraft compact 4 mixer, and i want to record two things on seperate channels on cubase. Is there another piece of hardware i need?

    NOT that I want you to cross-post there. But just so you know in the future.

    To answer your question, No you do not need another piece of equipment.
    All sound cards are stereo. You normally think of stereo as L & R, but it can also be used as 1 & 2 channels for recording.

    So all you need to do is use the pan knob and pan one thing to be recorded all the way to the Left, and the other thing all the way to the Right.
    You might need to change a setting in Cubase to tell it to treat L/R as seperate tracks instead of a stereo track. i don't really know Cubase at all. But If you are stuck with recording a stereo track, you can always convert it into 2 mono tracks once it's been recorded.
