Hello,
I know it's a tad dated now but I've just acquired a Zoom R8 and I can't find an explicit newbie users tutorial anywhere online. Are there users here willing to save an old guitarist from Menu Hell ? Mercy.

Yes, thanks for pointing them out but the operations manual simply describes, rather poorly, the basic functions of the knobs and buttons and doesn't even come close to being an operational tutorial. I see that somebody is marketing an R8 tutorial DVD so I can't be alone in needing far more information than Zoom hands out in its booklet.

I think this description applies to all Zoom products.

Another problem area is the clarity and size of the menu screens. However, I've managed to fire up the R8 straight-through guitar effects and I'm hooked. There are presets there which really light me up so it's well worth mastering this piece of kit- no matter how difficult its manufacturers make it.

You know.......I'm just realizing that you're saying you're BRAND NEW to recording this way so. Pretty much everyone has that "geez does this have to be so complicated" moment when launching a digital recording habit. If the DVD tutorial is for your product..........most of those are pretty good. I bought one for one of my pieces of equipment and it was step by step and very clear. I highly suggest that you buy it. Between that and the manual.........the terminology and the functions will make sense fairly quickly.

Thanks, but nopers. I'm not shelling out twice the price of a normal DVD for info which ought to come with the product;

I'll learn a little here and there, pick a few brains and make a few friends.

There's a specialist Zoom R8 forum over at Zoom;

.....so I'll take some time to read relevant questions and post them back here if there's anybody else interested.
