Songwriting demos and midi

Songwriter using cubase 7 here.. my method. I will track a song demo live via 1 or 2 tracks so that the feel is natural. Ill then tempo detect the track.with success for the most part... after doing that i try adding midi drums to it and here is where i run into the issue im having ..it appears the drums arent playing in synch with the tempo map. is there something i should do with the actual tempo map or midi file?

Ideally .. id love to lay the live track down tempo detect and map it .. insert midi to its track and have it play along with the tempo changes of the live track..Help?

Are you changing the time signature after the Tempo Detection? I think it defaults to 1/4 time.
 
hi chili thank you for responding ..indeed i am .. it has some points where it seems it didnt quite map the section out .. so i use smooth tempo. would i have to go in and edit the actual midi loop maybe?
