How would I chain these synths to my laptop?

How would I chain these synths to my laptop via midi cables?

I don't have a sequencer or anything just an Ensoniq Sq-80 and Korg Volca Bass, I bought one of those cheap Chinese cables just to hook up a regular Yamaha keyboard and it only records for like the first 30 seconds(piece of crap). The Sq-80 has MIDI in, out and thru but the Volca bass has only MIDI in. I'm pretty new to this stuff, I already know the functions of MIDI and sysex(kind of) but just not how to hook it up :facepalm:

Leave the computer out of this for the time being. Instead,get a standard midi cable and figure out the sequencer that the SQ-80 has onboard.

This way you'll get familliar with the basics of sequencing by working just with midi. If you like it and feel you're ready for the next step, google Reaper. They offer a 60 day trial period before you need to lay out the very reasonable $60 fee to continue.

The hookup would be from the midi out jack of the keyboard to the midi in of the Volca bass.
