worth upgrading from se2200A original to new se2200a ii multi-pattern?

Hey guys,

I currently have a sE2200A legacy(discontinued one), it's a very good mic and comes with a shockmount and a metal carry case. However, I've found a good deal from a friend of mine for an sE2200a ii multi-pattern with shockmount and pop filter. Could you please advise whether it's worth the upgrade? I've listened to various online videos of both mics and to me the original one sounds better for some reason, even though, the sE2200a C and multi pattern should sound the same or better.

Thank you!

My multi-pattern mics very rarely ever have the switch changed. I would only ever buy a microphone for a specific purpose, can't really see swapping one out for another - adding an extra is different.

why don't you ask your friend if you can borrow it? then record some comparison tests, if the older one sounds better, it's a downgrade.

I'd add the newer one and keep the original if it were me.
There is going to be a difference right off the bat because the new one has rubberized type surfaces to reduce noise.
3-patterns is always nice, too!
Look for used Z3300A's as well.
I believe it is now discontinued and they are outstanding for the price.
