Will it be a good idea to record with 1/4 to 1/8 adaptor?

I've an xlr mic. I'm saving up for an interface. But in the meanwhile for the recording will a 1/4 to 1/8 adaptor ( Buy Online | Lowest Price | Free Shipping| BAJAAO 1/4 Stereo Jack to 1/8 Stereo Plug Adapter - Buy online at the guaranteed lowest price in India - BAJAAO - Buy online and Review Musical Instruments, Pro Audio, Studio, P.A. The dullness and noise is caused by the onboard sound card in your computer. The onboard sound isn't meant for anything more than a Skype call or MSN chat--they're certainly not suitable for any serious recording. No amount of adaptors is going to help I'm afraid.

Good luck with your saving up.
