Strange Problem With CAD179 Microphone

Marshall Fender

New member
I am using a CAD179 for Voice Overs. I am running it through an M-Audio 610 and recording with Adobe CS5.5 There is too much 'noise' in my office. So, I thought I would do some recording in an adjacent bathroom. The bathroom is fifteen feet from my desk in my office.
The problem:
With the mic in the bathroom, I can set at my desk and do a sound check...test, test...and it is bright and clear on the digital audio readout...but when I am talking directly into the microphone (With the mic in the bathroom), I barely get any sound at all. So, I did a test (btw,,the chord is about 20' long) I talked into the microphone all the way back into my office...the closer I get to my desk, the more it picks up. Does that make any sense to anyone?

PROBLEM RESOLVED
It seems the problem was with settings in my Adobe system. The Master Clock was set to OUT ...I changed it to IN and that solved the problem...thanks for checking out my post anyway :)
