Supposedly the Sterling and the Groove Tubes Convertible are the same mic.

I got to try one on guitar cabs at Michael Wagners place, who obviously knows guitar sounds, and with about 15 mics we tried that day, the GT was in the top 5 of our favorites, following right behind a Royer 122V ($2700?) and a Royer 121. A guy showed up late in the day and listened to our files, and asked which mic the GT was because he thought it sounded nice.

$100. Nuff said. Now are they consistent? Did we have a superior luck version of it? Is it the exact same as the Sterling? Can't answer those. But we dug it.

I guess you'll just have to try them out??? ;)
If Aspen Pittman has put his face and name on their product I'd think there would be some higher level of legitimacy........

Type in Sterling and have a look half way down the page, you'll see a thread of almost the exact same title about the exact same subject. We've already had several discussions about this mic.

Thanks!! :D :D
