Shure KSM27 current mic - Want to Upgrade

I've owned the Shure KSM27 for about 8 years...spent I believe $300 back then. It's a solid mic and was a huge improvement from the Nady mic I was using at the time.

My question is, since I can't find one of those super convenient comparison websites like one can for video cards, cameras, etc, does anyone know of a decent upgrade that won't cost an arm and a leg?

There are soooooooooo many nice mics at lower costs (under $1000) these days, it would be a hard thing for me to suggest unless you could provide me with a price range and some idea of what you want to use it for.
