I've got a Shure BG 5.1 condenser mic that I paid about $175. I really don't want to buy a new mic. I'm using battery power. The manual says that it's good for recording vocals. I'm not having the greatest luck with it so far. I've heard the comment that the vocals are over modulating. I'm recording into a Boss BR-532 4 track recorder. Does anyone have any advice? Do you think a pre-amp would help?
