replacement transformers for ACMP units

A little premature, but I know some of you socal group buyers are doing local pickup. Reaching out to one of you who gets the pres open (and realizing that probably hasn't happened yet): can you say a) whether you'd want to replace the transformers, and if so, b) whether the Carnhill transformers will work as replacements?

From a post a while back:
The VTB9045 is a mic input transformer.
The VTB9046 is a line input transformer.
The VTB1148 is a line output transformer which has a narrow enough connector panel for it to fit in most 1U rack cases.

[and so I'm thinking these would be the best candidates]

The reason I'm pushing for the info (and probably bumping) is that I'm crossing the pond in a couple of weeks, and thought it would be nice to come back with some trannys (and will be happy to document and report my adventures), but I doubt I'll have my pres in hand until I get back (and, admittedly, even when I have them, I'm sure I'll want to hear it from someone who knows what they're doing as to whether the Carnhills are a good idea).

I just went to audiomaintenance's website, and it doesn't look like there's a huge advantage to getting them over there (probably have to deal with the vat/vat refund thing, too) as opposed to just ordering them online, so I guess I don't have the time pressure.

But I'm still very interested to know what everyone sees / thinks on this topic.

I have the Carnhill equivalents, so may swap the transformers on one unit and compare. The stock transformers are not necessarily bad. Neve's current transformers are Chinese-made after all.

Bump.... did anyone replace transformers on the ACMP 81? I still use mine frequently these days. It seems like I'm getting some distortion when I crank them (well of course I am) and I wonder if I could improve that sound with different transformers.

Btw I use one of my 73s as a guitar preamp going into a 50 watt class A EL34 based power amp and I don't think I would change a thing on it - sounds really good
