I have a "high end" home studio where I record bluegrass music. IOW, all acoustic instruments. I'm getting pretty well set up with core equipment...Reaper, Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 interface, Universal Audio LA-610 pre (I'll be selling a UA Solo-610 to make room for a Millenia HV-3C pre. The Solo-610 is kind of redundant with the LA-610.), Manley Gold Reference, Royer R-122, stereo pair of AT-4041s. I'm currently using Alesis M1 Active monitors (I know, the weak point in my chain).
Now my question...what would your choice be for a "money is no object" mic or stereo pair for recording acoustic instruments? What models would be considered among the very best? Or, are my AT-4041s as good as anything else? Thank you.
