I'm thinking of the new mic "day" as really this weekend, but I got a pair of Manley Reference Cardioid mics and I've been messing around with them. I can't sing, so I have to rely on my singing friends, but a couple have stopped by.
Good on acoustic, but they don't seem materially better than other mics I already had (in the LDC category, I'm liking C414B-ULS, and I'll probably keep using those - in the SDC category there are others I like too, like Oktava MC-012)
Have not yet tried on overheads - did I mention I can't play drums either?
But on vocals - oh my goodness! it's going to be tough to use anything else.
