Modding a Realistic / Radioshack / Tandy PZM for phantom power - CONFUSED!!

Hello,

I'm using this mod : http://www.celestial.com.au/~rosswood/data/images/PZM Mod.PDF

to allow a Realistic/Radioshack PZM to work with Phantom Power,

However, the wording i find somewhat confusing in the latter stages.

After removing the insert itself you need to cut the connection between the metal case and
the black wire's terminal (do this very carefully!), then solder a small strand of wire to the case from the
red wire's terminal.

here is a picture of the circuit board and electret capsule in question.

can anyone shed any light on what I actually have to do here?

Plenty of great pzm info to go through.

Rick also does a small kit which replaces the amp stage on the mic, giving greater dynamic range, lower noise and (I think) increased bandwidth.
