Which mic for tambourine, maracas, etc.?

Just curious to hear opinions on which of my microphones would be best for use in recording tambourine, maracas, shakers, etc.

I own...

Studio Projects C1
SM57
SM58
AKG C1000s
An Electrovoice Dynamic Mic - model escapes me at the moment.

Thanks for any and all input...

I'd suggest you use the SM57 on the tambourine and the C1000 on the maracas. An interesting trick when recording maracas is to record it in stereo, with one mic pointed at each maraca. Then pan each track to 3 and 9o'clock--the opposing shake gives an interesting touch.

I've done some tambourine, maracas, and shaker recording and what I did was mike them up close with an SM57 and then put my C1 a few feet away and got a great sound.

I'd try the EV....

If it's a 635a, it's a great mic for recording the instruments you need to record...
RE15's, RE16's, and RE18's are all great in that application too...
Steer clear of the condensers, IMHO, especially the ones you mention that you have...shrill to my ear...
I keep a ribbon on a stand at all time for tambourines, toy pianos, maraccas, etc. and it never disappoints...M500 or M260...
