Mine is due to grow before and at Christmas, as I already know my wife has gotten me at least 2 SM57 Mics, plus I ordered a new Marshall Mic from Musiciansfriend.com, the MXL 990 Large Diaphram with shockmount and Pop screen.. Marshall support tells me that it's basically MXL 603s electronics in a larger body and larger diaphram. Should be interesting...

Currently:
3- CAD10 Dynamic Mics
1- Marshall MXL 603s
1- Behringer ECM8000
2- Oktava MK-012 (same as the MC-012 with 1 capsule and -10db
attenuator)

Hmm...I didn't count my antique 1/4" plug Radio Shack Mic.... :rolleyes:

I do use a few of our singer's and our guitarist's mics. They are all Dynamics. One is a Sennheiser..sumpin', and the others, I'm not sure...

Any of you with the whole slew of cheap LD mics ever thought of selling two of them and digging into ebay for a used Sennheiser 441? Not the 421, the 441. Much nicer mic. They are going regularly for $250 now. Check into a Beyer M88 too. I have about 20 items I am constantly watching on my ebay watch-list. If something gets out of my range, I delete it. I wait until about the last 3 hours to bid ususally. Ususally someone outbids me. Occasionally, I win an excellent deal. Its that occasion that makes it all worth it.
My Sennheiser md-504's all came with clips except one, and I paid $60 for two of them, $54.50 for one, and like $50 for the other. New they were $300 for a 3 pack. I got 4 for around $224. Not bad really. I am thinking about getting 2 more, since I would rather use these in place of an sm57 in most cases, and get them cheaper and they sound a little better to me. The $60 one and the $54 one were both brand new in the box.
I'm babbling... later....

Nope :D

for my little studio...I don't get much writing done these days...I figure that as long as I have a couple of SM57's added to my setup, the MC-012's I have a great...The MXL 603s works great as an overhead, a vocal mic or an acoustic guitar mic....I'm good to go. the only 'cheap' sounding mics I have that I could actually do without are the CAD10's. Even the ECM8000 can be nice for an ambient mic.... I don't feel the need for anything nicer...these should be able to produce decent sounds, as long as I and my fellow musician friends can!

Hey, DigitMus! Don't you know that having either a Brauner VM1 (regardless of edition) or any DPA mike at all, immediately disqualifies you from hanging out at HR? And you have both! :D
(Perhaps they sort of neutralize each other, so you can still hang around. Mm, I need to think about this...)

I probably have about 50 mics, although I'm just guessing. A lot of the quantity is because I also do some live sound work, and I'm not going to bring most of my studio mics anyplace where they're gonna get beer thrown on them.

I'll be damned, though, if I'm gonna try and list them all. The general flavor of my collection is pretty similar to Digitmus, but I don't have any Brauners or M149's.

I must say I have Mic envy!!! I'm a performing drummer - so I'm heavy on the "workhorse stage mics".

Going through my dynamic microphone stage I guess (all vocal mikes);

Shure SM57
Beyer M88TG
Beyer Soundstar MKII
Beyer Soundstar X1 (Sennheiser 421 lookalike/soundalike)
Peavey 520i (on the way from e-bay)
EV C09

Condensers;
Audio-Technica 3527 omni
Oktava MC012-01 (same as MC012, good sounding, considering selling it)

Have a Sennheiser 421 MKII currently for sale on e-bay.

I like to "rotate" microphones occasionally to learn how different ones
sound, and tend to keep the less easily available ones, like the Soundstars.
My favorites of the current line-up is the M88TG (uptempo material),
and the Soundstar MKII (ballads). Waiting for a cable with a "tuchel"
(European) microphone connector to be able to use the X1 .
Beyer is an underated make in home recording circles IMHO.

Yeah, don't hurt me but I was into live sound once, and we used A LOT of Beyers. I really grew to like them.
