JVC M201 Stereo Condenser Mic?

Just been having a dig around in the loft at some of my dads old reel to reel tape decks and came across a case with a JVC stereo electet condenser mic model no M201, believed purchased 70's and was still sealed in the box, looks like it works off a 1.5v battery. Is it a rare find or a piece of junk? Nice case! Will it work for recording acoustic guitar? Tried to post a picture but couldn't figure it out.

Hi Vikki,

I'm no expert on mics but you can check on the web. There may be some information available that way. Also check Ebay. There is a section for mics. Use a search term like "antique" or "vintage". I would also be willing to bet that ther are sites (maybe a forum) dedicated to vintage mics.

Just a thought.

BTW, most of those older recording mics go for a reasonable amount on Ebay but like I said, I'm no expert.
