Line 6 POD Studio UX2

So I got everything set up, including the annoying drivers for the UX2 (Line 6 Monkey installed them for me), and I plug it in and it turns on and shows it's reading.

However whenever I go to record, nothing is recording. Now when I plugged in the UX2 and everything lights up, the notches don't exactly bump up when talking. I plugged the cord directly from the mic into it, and then the extension cord (as pictured in the 2nd pic), but still nothing happened.

Can someone help me out? Really looking to try and do some stuff with my voice, and this one has me stumped. Thank you so much for looking at this.

Hi Jaz' and welcome. Never used a Line 6 of any sort but plenty do and I think they are pretty good.

So, The Basics: Does the unit play out a signal from a CD, Toob track or other audio source? If not fix that. The AI is probably not set as Default Playback Device in Windows (W7?). While you are there set the L6 as Default Recording Device as well.

Now look at Audacity* and go> Edit> Preferences and work through the menus to set the L6 as recording and playback device. Set up for 24 bit recording, bit rate 44.1kHz.

Do the meters on the Line 6 move when you yodel into the mic? If not, is 48V phantom power on? I have no idea where the VU meters should indicate but lets go for 1/2 way for now? Do you hear yhe mic in headphones? You HAVE headphones?

Work through that lot and tell us how you do.

*Audacity is a great free Audio EDITOR! It is not however THE greatest bit of software for Home Recording. You should have Reason? Give that a do (don't know jack. Sorry) In addition I am fairly sure Audacity cannot run ASIO drivers and you really need those.

Dave.

Last I looked, this is a true statement.

I don't think you have to go into preferences to set the recording device, there is a place to select in the device tool bar if that is showing. But one does have to sort out how Windows media is picking up the interface since Audacity uses the OS setup to talk to the device.

- Phantom power turned on?
- How close are you to the mic when talking?

Below is a screenshot of my Tascam interface selected in Audacity and using Windows DirectSound. Have you or can you select the UX2 like this in Audacity?
You may have to connect the UX2 to the computer before starting Audacity.

Hey there. Sorry I didn't reply for a few days, I was busy. Okay so I tried what you did, but these are the only things I get.

Additionally, even when plugging in headphones to hear some playback, I cannot. Now my UX2 is lit up and everything because I installed the drivers (it wasn't before that), but for some reason it just will not detect it. This is also my audio situation below.

P.S. I should also note that I'm on Windows 10.

P.P.S. It uses Podfarm 2 as well. I feel I should mention that. I have that and the Line 6 Monkey to update the latest drivers.
