Guess the mic

Son has just sent me this from France (as .wav) .

All I have done is bumped it up a few dB to average neg 20 and convert to highest Q MP3.

The guitar is a concert classical type, made locally and cost him €2,000. The room is sparsely furnished with a wood block floor and about as big he says as our living room at Npton, so about 1800cuft.

Anyone like to have a stab at the microphone type?

Dave.

I would guess not a condenser due to the lack of crisp high end frequencies but....

I'm gonna +1 Steen's guess.

Interesting! There is in fact a bit of stuff out to 14kHz or so but it is gutstrung remember. Twenty to one here so I shall be pitting soon. All will be revealed later.

Thanks for listening and the comments.

Dave.

Ok! FFS stop the torrent of guesses! I give in.

It was a ProSound 40quid USB capacitor. I had it apart at home, cheap as chips the mic capsule was about 20mm.

I really can't tell, hence the post but son thinks it sounds ok?

Dave.

It sounds fine, but there's an awful lot of noise.
That was part of the reason I guessed dynamic (on a budget interface).
